Watermelon smoothie

Watermelon isn’t only made up of water and sugar. It also provides a high amount of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.

What better way to say farewell to the summer weather in Toronto then with a smoothie like this. What a short lived season we had, but that’s not new for us Torontonians.

One evening I had a really bad headache and truth be told, I don’t like taking any kind of medication for it. Instead I did some research on possible causes and solutions. BINGO! Dehydration is a major cause of headaches and this fruit is a great solution since it’s 91% water.

 

Ingredients

1 1/2 cup of watermelon
1 frozen banana
1 peeled green apple

 

Purée watermelon in blender. You can strain the slush or leave it as is. Add the watermelon back into the blender with the banana and apple. Blend.
