I had no Instagram post for Christmas Day this year and actually no IG stories. Nor was I on Twitter, or pinning stuff on Pinterest. I was enjoying the day with our family and celebrating our wedding anniversary. Among other stuff we do on our anniversary, one of them is to just be silly and spontaneous. Okay, that’s something we do on almost every holiday break. But you get it. We put on some warm clothes and headed out to our backyard patio to have a snowball fight with the fresh snowfall we had just gotten in Mississauga.
Snowball fight in Style with the Warmest Sweater Ever!
Of course, my sister fromMAC Decor was prepared with the camera and got some great shots! She does wedding and events decor if anyone is looking. Check her out on Instagram: MAC Decor – Toronto.
Do you remember an epic snowball fight? I actually cannot remember one before this one. I also don’t have the best memory either.
I love this sweater from ROMWE. The quality is on point! Super soft fabric, the high low shape is body flattering and the grey tone is perfect. This sweater is now 65% off on the site: Check it out.
The pants I’m wearing are from Top Shop and they’re high rise stretchy skinny jeans. The most comfortable pants money could buy! These jeans are actually currently trending and almost out of stock: Check it out.
During my early years as a blogger, I wondered what it would be like to sit among other like-minded individuals in the blogging world. So here I am, this year, with lots of breakfast, lunch/brunch and dinners with other bloggers and I gotta say, what an awesome experience! Some bloggers are very different in person from what I actually thought they’d be like according to their posts and online voice. And others, like the below crew, are exactly the same offline as they present themselves online. When they’re exactly the same, I have to admit I get such a feel-good feeling. It’s wonderful to see that realness and authenticity come to life. So here’s what happens during brunch with bloggers:
Last month I met up with some amazing bloggers for brunch, in downtown Toronto. You might recognize them(see above). First, there are the quick intros and then the “omg that’s you!” chit-chat. And then lots of talk about blogging. Everything from how to editing, favourites applications, google analytics and SEO – (I’m drooling!) brands and events. I love talking tech! Plugins and what works for us and what doesn’t. If there is one takeaway you should get from this post, it would be “together we are stronger”. As similar as we may seem for content creation and voices; we all still have our own style, community, and our own niche experiences/opinions.
I love how bloggers bounce ideas off each other and the best part is when the food comes out, it comes out altogether so we can take flat lays, single shots and just pictures galore without anyone getting upset. Because we all get it! It’s a no judge zone and at that moment while taking pictures we are all pulling in the same energy and are alike. That is the very moment everyone really comes together. When we’re in our natural blogging element. Brunch with bloggers is not only about food, but getting to know the beautiful individuals I love to follow online and getting to know them at a much more realistic level.

Here’s what I wore to the brunch. I have been looking for a pleated winter skirt for so long! Now that I’ve found it, I want to wear it as much as possible! I found this skirt online at Aritizia and it was on sale for $80. Linked it and some others:
Toronto had some cold weather a few weeks ago. We were all certain Fall was here. Heck, the leaves had even started changing colour. And now here we are sitting in 20°C+ weather. In the Spring/Summer I loved wearing culottes. I’m not ready to part with them yet, so here’s how I plan to transition into Fall with them.
Culottes For Fall Lookbook
I wore my culotte pants with a short high neck sweater for a roof top brunch. It was the most perfect pairing for that day. Especially because it was a little chilly.
I’m rocking my suede heels and when it gets colder, putting a blazer or a bomber jacket on top can work as well. I prefer longer blazers to go with these pants and fitted bomber jackets.
Camel, so many different tones and ways to style this classy chic colour. I think I first fell in love with this colour when I bought my first camel colour coat from H&M for $20! It was $100 regular price, so you can imagine how excited I was! I’ve had this coat for a few years now and I love wearing it. As you can see in the below images. 🙂
Pairing camel with anything leopard always looks really good! I usually wear a leopard print scarf with this coat.
Here I was going for that Kendall Jenner AMA’s look. Not 100%, but definitely 100% messy. I blame the windy day.
Don’t be shy, try combining different shades of camel. Get a little risky and even pair camel tone clothing with sneakers! Preferably all white or all black. Do you love this colour? How do you wear it?
I love chunky sweaters and cardigans. Like wearing a cosy blanket. Chunky sweaters can be really heavy and overpowering when trying to pair with accessories or other clothes. Chunky cardigans are easier. Not as heavy, still cosy and you get to show what you’re wearing under your cardigan. I love dressing comfortably. Whoever said you can’t be comfortable and fashionable at the same time was wrong.
Just one of those “hoods up, sunnies on” type of days. I got this sweater a while back online from The Bay. It’s from the Style & Co brand. When I first looked at their items I was a bit turned off from the styles and options they had but if you keep going through their items you’ll find something that speaks to you and your style. I opted for this sweater because at the time I was pregnant and loved the flowy idea for more belly space but I also knew it would be something I’d wear after as well. I guess most of my casual wear is loose fitting and flowy. My sisters call it “dressing cute“.
With all that black going on with this outfit I needed this sparkly clutch to add some pizzazz.
I look forward to Fall. Wearing layers, darker colours and the not too cold, not too hot weather. A few months before a new season I start to causally seek out some season appropriate outfits that I could also mix with some of the stuff I already have. This year I didn’t find anything I could say I’m dying to wear. At first I was bummed out but now that I think about it, it’s a perfect opportunity to really look at what I already have and create some new looks.
The beauty of shopping in advance is you find a lot of stuff for much cheaper. Just like the purse I’m rocking from Zara. I bought it online during the summer. Most likely from last Fall but with a purse like this, it could never go out of style. At least no where in the near future.
I’m loving the details on this purse. So many zippers and so much room to fill it with all the things I probably won’t use in a day.
Where do you do your Fall shopping?
Jacket: Egyptian store in Egypt // Shoes: Jessica Simpson // Pants: Zara Basics // Purse: Zara // Blouse: American Apparel
Sometimes all it takes to look extraordinary is a simple outfit with the right amount of accessories. When accessorizing, think of trends that represent your style. I chose fringe for this outfit. To feel comfortable in your outfit, pick brands or type of clothes that have never let you down. My go to tanks and Zara jeans.
I think some other bloggers can relate to this, but the other day someone asked me if I wanted to be a model. I asked, why? “I saw your instagram account and you have a lot of fashion/style posts of yourself…”Oh yes. Yes I do have those posts on instagram. Like most girls, I love putting together my outfits, spending time doing my make-up and doing my hair..occasionally. Oh and I failed to mention I post other stuff too. C’mon! BUT.. that doesn’t mean I’m looking to be a model. Should I be flattered? I wasn’t. I think I’ve blasted it enough online that my career is in Marketing. Has anyone said that to you before? I thought it was pretty clear that instagram is a platform for all kinds of photography. End of rant.
Back to talking about this outfit, if you haven’t heard of Tanked yet, then you need to check them out! I love simple and soft tanks. They have many cool designs to choose from as well. Supporting unique non mainstream brands makes me happy. You can find them online or you can stay tuned to my next blog post to find out where they have shops!
Speaking of supporting unique brands, BRAVE is another one of my faves. It’s a Canadian brand that I have loved for years. I’ve seen their products on people or in magazines and without being told or reading, I just always know it’s BRAVE. I’m wearing a leather bracelet by them for this ootd. Their products are quality products. I’ve had this bracelet for years and it still looks and feels brand new.
Purse: H&M // Leather Bracelet: BRAVE leather // Tank top: Tanked // Jeans: Zara //
Sunnies: Forever21 // Lip: Giorgio Armani
You could wear the most simplest outfit anywhere and add pizzazz with anything metallic. It can be in your shoes, accessories or a top. I’m not too keen on metallic pants though :”/ For a friends birthday dinner I wore minimal accessories and went super chunky with my clothes. Loose and flowy for a warm windy evening.
What I Wore: A Metallic Statment
I love boyfriend jeans, jackets and here I am wearing a boyfriend blazer! My favourite thing about this blazer is the high slit down the sides. Makes for a perfect peekaboo to a printed top or dress.
