Quo – What’s New & Summer 2018 Collection at Shoppers Drug Mart

A new season means NEW make-up! For the Quo Summer launch, I get to check out all the great goodies Quo has that’s new and in their limited edition Summer 2018 collection. For those of you who have never heard of Quo. It is a house brand for Shoppers Drug Mart. I’ve used many of their products for years and have gotten to know what are their great products and which Quo I’m not a huge fan of. I’ve been using their Wet & Dry powder foundation for years. It’s honestly my favourite. I’ve actually tried replacing it with other brands and had no luck.

I have also noticed that not all of their makeup brushes are good. I’ve actually tried every single one as a make-up artist and know exactly which ones fall apart quickly (brush hairs falling). The foundation and concealer brushes are great. However, the Powder and blush brushes are terrible. But if you ever see any limited edition makeup brush sets, make sure you snag those. Because they’re usually awesome and you still get the house brand price of course. You’ll be happy to know that the Quo Summer 2018 collection has some pretty cool makeup brushes (metallic design) and the makeup bag it comes with is so nice that you’ll want to use it every day.

We all have a cute monster slumbering in us. What if we liberated it. Be free, and transform into whatever it is that helps you express yourself. Nina Ricci teams up with two Brazilian artists to create this innovative new scent and look to their classic apple bottle fragrance. I found this launch super nostalgic. I actually remember whenever Nina Ricci would launch a new apple bottle fragrance, I’d be so excited to smell it. Every single one she has created has been amazing! These two are by far the coolest. Very different from the usual route she takes with keeping everything dainty and sweet. Luna and Nina are playful fragrances, that I’m sure anyone at any age could relate too.

There are two little monsters. Luna and the other is Nina. After smelling both fragrances, I can assure you I’m into Nina.

Nina has notes of sparkling pear, enrobed with candyfloss.

Luna has been transformed into a juicy pineapple and infused with lime.

Both are beautiful scents and honestly, have my mouth watering.

This body butter in Salted Caramel and Macadamia smells SO good and feels amazing on the skin. I use this after I shower and the scent lives with me all day. I’m all for layering scents for that extra long scent life. The body butter is loaded with cocoa and shea butter, which are known for their intense moisturizing abilities. It’s $20 for a 300 ml.

HIBISCUS & COCONUT WATER BODY SCRUB

The combination of using this body scrub and then the body butter after; you smell great all day and your skin will feel soft and hydrated. $20 for 250g.

This flavour actually has a hand cream as well. $10.

CLOUDBERRY & LYCHEE BLOSSOM

Smells just like its name! Love the foaming shower gel, well because it gets really foamy..duh! If you’re a fan of lychee, you’ll be happy to know this product actually has lychee extracts in it. The shower gel is $15 and you can marry it with the cloudberry and lychee blossom body lotion, $16.

Have you tried PIXI beauty products before? I’m going, to be honest, and say this year was the first time I ever tried PIXI. I have a huge haul to share with you! There was an extra PIXI launch that I couldn’t share with you at the time I recorded the video, so instead, I shared some pictures of the products and my favourite one. 1. Glow Tonic To-Go

This is my number one because it is the “fairest of them all”! This toner has changed my skin life. I stopped using toners over a decade ago when I realized the ones I was using weren’t doing anything for my skin. Until I tried this one. It has 5% glycolic acid that helps purify and exfoliate your skin. Alcohol-free, which is a big deal for me since I’m not a fan of toners because most have alcohol in them. Ginseng in it improves circulation and energizes your skin. This is great since we cut the circulation on a daily basis with the layers of makeup we can wear. Since I’ve been using this toner I’ve noticed less breakouts, more even skintone (which means I use less makeup for coverage) and overall more radiant looking skin.

Suitable for all skin types. Not tested on animals.

2. MatteLast Liquid Lip

There are so many colours to choose from! So far I’ve worn two colours and I love them both. They dry matte, and a tad bit sticky if you press your lips together. But that doesn’t bother me if it’s staying on for almost the entire day! The colours are also really pigmented and turn out to be what you see in the tubes. There’s also rosehip seed oil in it to smoothe and condition your lips. Also, vitamin e. Here’s a swatch of only one swipe of the MatteLast Liquid Lip:

3. PIXI + Dulce Candy : Cafe Con Dulce

I am obsessed with this palette! If you were watching my Instagram stories when I first searched it, you’d know how excited I was. It’s actually saved in my ‘Instagram Highlights’ under Beauty. This is a powder to cream everything! Use it as a highlighter, on the lids and even a dab on your lips for a glowy look. Even better, you get 9 shades to choose from!

4. Lower Lash Mascara

Finally, there’s a wand that can coat my lower lashes without me getting mascara under my eyes! This is the tiniest brush for those hard to reach lashes. It also has vitamin e to nourish and protect your lashes.

TIP: Try applying the mascara with the diagonal method: Pulling the brush through at an angle and spending extra time at the corners vs going down the lashes. Diagonal gives a more wide-eyed look.

5. Endless Silky Eye Pen

I wore this eyeliner for an entire day and no raccoon eyes! Yay! Waterproof. Semi-easy to remove at the end of the day. You may need an oil-based makeup remover. Paraben-Free. Mineral Oil-Free. Preservative-Free and Hypoallergenic.

I love this colour! The perfect sheer pink. I’m also a huge fan of lip plumpers. I’ve tried so many and I have gotta say this is definitely the best in terms of colour and plumping action. Unlike most lip plumpers this one leaves a cool sensation on the lips. The jojoba oil nourishes and deeply hydrates your lips and the plumping effect with regular use creates a longer-term effect of plumper lips.

This mascara is great if you love the silicone wand. I’m not a huge fan of the “defining” lashes look but on some, it looks amazing. It’s more of a natural look. What I do love about this mascara is that it has argan oil in it.

Pretty awesome.

The last time I used a sexy mother pucker lip plumper was at least 7 years ago and when I tried this one I must say I was just as pleased as I was 7 years ago. It’s super strong and you definitely feel the tingly feeling of it working.
