boyfriend coat

I’m crushing on the oversize look. Oversized clutch, sweaters and of course the coat.

I love the fit of my yellow coat this winter and was on a hunt for something similar, but a more subdued colour. You may have seen it in my Naksan Park, South Korea post. So I did a little experiment for my day out with my sisters. Just before I left my house, I tried on my husband’s coat, rolled up the sleeves and added a clip on fur scarf I purchased from H&M last winter.

A day out shopping isn’t complete until you come back home to a cozy cuddle-fest with your sisters and some AMAZING tea. I have a tea collection from Davids tea at home, but I wanted to try something different this time. My sister Mac, suggested I try their Forever Nuts latte. De-licious! Their website describes this tea perfectly; “Deliciously nutty, decidedly addictive. Caffeine-free.”

Holiday Gift ideas 2014

holiday gifts 2014

Happy Plugs – I just got my first set last month and I love them! They really are jewellery and headphones combined! I have the rose gold and they look so good with my rose gold accessories. If you have a favourite colour or have a friend who loves a particular print, I’m certain you can find matching Happy Plugs for him or her. Makes for a great Secret Santa gift.

Vitabath Holiday Scents – Lathering yumminess. I love these holiday scents and they make for great presents because they come in a duo set.

Jelly Doughnuts – Instead of the usual box of chocolates, why not get that someone gourmet doughnuts? They have an amazing selection for the holiday season too! Check their website for locations in Toronto.

Marsala – You heard the big news right? Pantones colour for 2015 is Marsala. So why not give your fashionista friends a head start and get them something in Marsala to rock right into the new year? I know there has been some backlash of why this colour was chosen. But you can’t impress everyone. I personally love the colour and it can be worn through your outfits to your everyday make-up looks.

Cuppies – Here are my fave sites to get a special someone that unique cup they’ll be using all winter season long for their hot coco’s and lattes: Creature cups, Davids Tea & Royal Albert for the dainty.

KYOTOChunky knits

Kyoto, a beautiful historic city in Japan. Kyoto is beautiful all year long. There are various beauties to see in each season. Winter with snowflakes kissing everything to turn to a serene white, Spring brings out the famous cherry blossom trees, Summer, when everything is a lush green and then Fall bringing in every fall colour imaginable. The rustic orange, bright yellow, hints of lush green and brilliant red. Colours like these call for a FEATURE OF WHAT I WORE in Kyoto.

kyoto japan

Considering we were in Kyoto for the Fall season, my wardrobe consisted of lots of sweaters, cardigans, blazers, one coat and a leather jacket.

Here I wore a chunky knit I purchased from Korea in Hongdae, distressed ripped jeans, purchased on my trip to Egypt from the store ONLY at the City Stars Mall, really comfortable flats and lots of accessories.

IMG_1418It was the perfect outfit for climbing hundreds of stairs at the Fushimi Inari Shrine (Fushimi Inari Taisha) red gates. I honestly felt as if I did the CN Tower stair climb! What a great workout though. I didn’t make the entire climb, although my intentions were to.

After climbing what felt like forever, I thought I had made it to the top. Of course, there were more stairs! My legs were jelly at the end of this adventure but definitely worth it.

This was the most perfect sweater weather! I was so happy I brought my sunnies (sunglasses) with me.

Do you have a favourite chunky knit?

NO MORE CAFÉ AT THE TORONTO COLETTE GRAND CAFÉ?

Naksan Park – Seoul, South Korea

koi fish naksan park

There is so much to do in South Korea and shopping is so much fun that you get lost in the hustle and bustle of the markets rather than site seeing. However, Naksan Park has been on my travel list of to do’s for a year now, so we worked it into our Korea itinerary.

There’s something magical and beautiful about Koi Fish and yes, I’m obsessed with them. I’ve painted them on canvas, own a few Koi Fish items and always get excited and smile when I see them absolutely anywhere. With this being said, you can already guess, this was literally the #bestoftheday for me when I found the Koi Fish mural.

According to many reviews about the Park, due to the park being pretty big, some people never find it. Just in case, I set my expectations low and to my surprise we found the actual map of where all the Naksan Park murals were located! The map isn’t in English but you can show it to anyone and they would be more then happy to help you.

This was my second favourite mural at the park:

There’s more than murals to see at Naksan Park. The views of Seoul are breath-taking!

Don’t forget to take the short cut up, via the sort of hidden stairs. A lot nicer than taking the cement hill route.

Falling for Fall…

When the sun has gone and the heat has disappeared, that first hit of cold crispy fall air hitting your face sends chills down your spine.

But then you go through your closet, taking out all your great fall wear and you end up falling for Fall, all over again.

Fall Wish List

Fall Wish List

Leaves have started changing colour, pumpkins have been set outside and the smell of burning fire wood is in the air. Meanwhile in the digital world, online stores have rolled out their fall collections to match in-store. This is my Fall wish list and some of these items are my staple go-to’s for the season.

When I think of Fall, I think of chunky knits and distressed jeans. Everything has to be cozy, chic and warm. My favourite colours for this season are always neutrals, burgundy, mustard, camel, bright yellow and grey. All these colours make for a beautiful palette of Fall outfits.

Between Bathurst and Spadina, South of Queen Street is graffiti central.

Living and growing up downtown has given me appreciation for the hustle and bustle of the fashion district. Lunch period during middle school days were spent getting lunch and window shopping. Getting groceries from chinatown was a regular day routine and then Sanderson library. So many memories. The fashion district name derives from this area of downtown Toronto being home to clothing manufacturer businesses back in the day. Just take a look up when you’re shopping in this area and notice the old victorian like roofs on top of most of these stores. Especially standing at the corner of Queen and Spadina.

Other then wholesale, limited edition, vintage and designer shops along this south side stretch of Spadina Ave, you can also take a walk down graffiti central where you’ll see work by Deadboy, Poser, Spud, Fdoe, THINGS and Gregory Alan Elliot to name a few.

During the weekend if you don’t have anywhere to go that calls for formal, semi-formal or even business casual then believe me, I’m going towards an outfit like this.

Easily transformed into dressed up and to walking down town Toronto streets. With a change of shoes I was ready for both in my black and white swizzle wear.

shoedazzle wedges hum jk

Don’t let the height of these wedges fool you. They’re really comfortable! I would suggest if you’re purchasing anything from this on-line store, purchase half a size or one size up. They’re not true to size and fit a bit snug. I’ve always found wedges to be a lot easier to walk in than skinny stilettos. It’s just a matter of finding the right design. As most wedges are not very..erm…fashionably pleasing?
