July Favourites – Unique Kit Kat Flavours, Vichy, Henne Organics & MORE!

    1. Vichy – Their products have always been one of my favourites. Ever since my acne skin prone skin days, I would use Normaderm. It saved my life! The Aqualia line has evolved over the years. With this new formula, your thirsty skin will love you! Packed with minerals, hyaluronic acid, mineralizing water and more. I used both products for a couple of weeks – the serum and day cream. I love the day cream/moisturizer. It absorbs into the skin really well and I felt my skin get softer from the instant hydration right away.
    2. Winky-Lux – Seen all over Instagram and Pinterest, this lipstick is unique! Some have flowers in them, or this one has sparkles.arden capsules
    3. Elizabeth Arden – Having this serum in capsules takes the guesswork out of how much product we should use with each application. Especially because it has retinol.
    4. Kit Kat – Can I tell you how obsessed I was with all of the flavours of Kit Kat in Japan! I bought so many to take back with me and I haven’t finished them yet. The goji berry and sweet potato flavour are my favourites so far. Matcha is alright, but we can get that here in Canada.kitkat
    5. Nuxe – I love this dry oil! It’s a multi-purpose oil you can use on your face, body, in your hair (especially for the dry ends) and cuticles.
    6. Blue Mer – Also, bought this hand cream from Korea, or maybe it was Japan. I can’t remember now but it is available at The Face Shop. Not sure if this specific one is here in Canada, but it is honestly the best smelling and most moisturizing hand cream I’ve had. So next time you’re shopping at The Face Shop, definitely pick one of these up. They’re SO good!
    7. Filorga – A 2 step program for growing lush eyebrows and lashes. I used this for a month and noticed results. Nothing too crazy, but enough to make it to my faves!
    8. Rodial Beauty – This lip crayon goes on like suede. Hence the name, suede lips.

9. Henne – Founded in 2015 this product line has products that are 99% organic.

Quo – What’s New & Summer 2018 Collection at Shoppers Drug Mart

A new season means NEW make-up! For the Quo Summer launch, I get to check out all the great goodies Quo has that’s new and in their limited edition Summer 2018 collection. For those of you who have never heard of Quo. It is a house brand for Shoppers Drug Mart. I’ve used many of their products for years and have gotten to know what are their great products and which Quo I’m not a huge fan of. I’ve been using their Wet & Dry powder foundation for years. It’s honestly my favourite. I’ve actually tried replacing it with other brands and had no luck.

I have also noticed that not all of their makeup brushes are good. I’ve actually tried every single one as a make-up artist and know exactly which ones fall apart quickly (brush hairs falling). The foundation and concealer brushes are great. However, the Powder and blush brushes are terrible. But if you ever see any limited edition makeup brush sets, make sure you snag those. Because they’re usually awesome and you still get the house brand price of course. You’ll be happy to know that the Quo Summer 2018 collection has some pretty cool makeup brushes (metallic design) and the makeup bag it comes with is so nice that you’ll want to use it every day.

June Beauty Favourites – Laura Mercier, Givenchy Beauty and more

It’s the official first day of Summer and June is coming to an end! I’m getting an early start on sharing my June beauty favourites with you guys and I hope we share the love for these products. And if we don’t, that’s okay too. Having said that, I have been having the worse breakout from using a new foundation from MAC that I just can’t stop using. I don’t know if it’s my guilt of having it go to waste or if I just have too much of easy access to it in my makeup bag. I need to move it out of arms reach. Currently, I am using a mix of Maybelline concealer and Dermablend foundation, so I’ll be reporting back to you on the effects of those ones on my skin. June Beauty Favourites

  1. Le Rouge Lipstick by Givenchy Beauty – This lipstick oozes of luxury. In a leather case, with a floral print: taking this one out in public is like flashing a pretty accessory. LOVE it! Rich pigment goes on semi-matte and retails for $44.
  2. Rouge Interdit Vinyl Color Enhancing Lipstick – This lipstick is formulated with black rose oil that gives you a plumping effect and intense colour. I love that it goes on so smooth, it just feels like second skin. Retails for $41.

3. Laura Mercier Boheme Chic Eye Clay Palette – I love the beautiful texture of this palette. Goes on smooth, picks up a lot of pigment and the colour selection is perfect for creating a day and night smokey eye. 4. Stila Liquid Eyeshadow – I’m obsessed with the limited edition colour in Freedom! It’s so beautiful and reminds me of the reflective colour of a mermaid’s tail. It’s the perfect summer colour. Retail $24.

Toronto Nail Salon – TIPS Nail Bar on the West Side

Finally, a nail bar that I love, close to home! Tips Nail Bar at Dundas and Dovercourt.  When I do get my nails done, I prefer intricate nail art and shellac. I haven’t done artificial nails in over a decade. As I got older it made less sense, especially because I use my hands a lot and artificial nails would get in the way of me doing just normal everyday tasks.

The first time I went to this salon I got shellac nails done with a dotted pattern. (Everyone commented on the pattern I chose, saying how much they loved it.) I got the pattern from their Instagram page, which is an awesome lookbook for designs if you don’t know what you want.

My nail polish did not chip until the end of 3 weeks since I had them done! The interior of this salon is minimalistic. Very clean interior and they don’t only do nails.

Be sure to also check out their ‘Mani-Cam’. It’s a camera built inside the wall. You place your hand inside this box in the wall, that is lit like a diva ring light. My favourite nail experts at this location are, Melissa (whose done my nails many many times) and Ashley who is also very talented!

Last weekend I had the pleasure of attending a private workshop by workshops by huda at the Scarborough Town Centre Flower Market in collaboration with Blossom and Bloom. My sweet tooth was beyond satisfied when we got to indulge in the dessert performance that was really, the coolest art experience! the STCFLOWERMRKT is not only a great place to pick up gifts but a fun experience.

The Flower Market is open to the public until May 13th. There are lots of amazing Mother’s Day gift ideas! Really feels like a one-stop shop for everything your mother would love. This flower market will take you through an ultimate floral experience with their fresh flower field and floral swing. And there’s even an origami workshop space.

We made origami heart necklaces and if it wasn’t for the super helpful instructor I would be lost. It was a refreshing experience to just sit down and create art vs. being behind our phones recording it. Very therapeutic.

Nina Ricci teams up with two Brazilian artists to create this innovative new scent and look to their classic apple bottle fragrance. I found this launch super nostalgic. I actually remember whenever Nina Ricci would launch a new apple bottle fragrance, I’d be so excited to smell it. Every single one she has created has been amazing! These two are by far the coolest. Very different from the usual route she takes with keeping everything dainty and sweet. Luna and Nina are playful fragrances, that I’m sure anyone at any age could relate too.

There are two little monsters. Luna and the other is Nina. After smelling both fragrances, I can assure you I’m into Nina.

Both are beautiful scents and honestly, have my mouth watering.
