It’s time to buckle up and get warm because jeepers it’s getting cold in Fall. On Halloween night the temperature went down to 4 degrees! Ugh. We did one street of houses for trick or treating and went home. How are you staying warm this Fall? I’m planning to switch it up between weather changes. Warmer days a moto jacket like the one I’m wearing below and colder days, layers or my winter coat. Meh.
Whenever I wear a short jacket like this I love to pair it with a longer shirt underneath. Also like to keep it simple with no print. Just plain jane one colour top.
Buckle Up, It’s Getting Chilly in Fall! What I Wore [STYLE]
This moto jacket is from Zaraand you’ll most likely still find it in stores. I actually saw it last weekend (at Square One) but not in this colour.
I love these pants for a numerous amount of reasons. For one, they’re the perfect stretchy material. So no matter how big or small I get, it will sit around my curves perfectly. Two, I love the rip. The rip on the knees is clean and simple. Perfect for wearing fish nets underneath. They’re from Topshop.
I’m a cat lady at heart. Yes, that is my opening statement to this DIY baby kitty costume post.For our mommy club also known as ‘Mommy Kitty Krew’ we had all the baby girls dressed in cat costumes and the baby boys were lions. It was so cute seeing it all come together. If you’re looking for a last minute Halloween costume idea then you can skip some of these steps and do an all white or all black onesie and the cat ears.

1 pack of pipe cleaners
Pom pom garland or cotton balls as an alternative
Foam sheets – >>click here<<
Felt – Pink
A tutu – any size or make your own like this >> click here <<
Black elastic – Got mine from Wal-Mart >>click here<<
A white full sleeve or half sleeve onesie
Glue gun
Baby Kitty Ears
Fold the white foam in half and cut out the shape of the cat ears. Cut them out so both sides are attached at the ends. Now cut out the pink inside of the ears from pink felt. Measure your babies head with the black elastic to see how much you’ll need. Tie together and put the foam cat ears in place. Now glue both sides of the foam cat ears together. Lastly, place the pink felt (inside of the ear) on top of the white foam ears. Glue gun in place. See images below for more details.

Baby Kitty Tail
For the tail my girlfriend got this garland with poofy balls on it. We pulled out the black ones and kept the white ones. Then used the white pipe cleaners to wrap around the string part. It’s not that full kitty tail look but I call it the chic fu fu kitty tail. You know, those cats that get buzz cuts. 😉
Baby Kitty TuTu
This one is easy. We took an adult size tutu and cut it into three. The tutu was to cover most of the front of the costume and the back was attached to about a couple of inches of black elastic. The opening was perfect to put the tail through. And because we used pipe cleaners for the tail it was super easy to intertwine the tail around the black elastic in the back.

October Beauty Favourites
STILA
I’ve been using Stila cosmetics for a few years now and I haven’t come across a Stila product that I didn’t like. I’ve been obsessing over these Stay All Day Liquid Lipsticks, Stay All Day Foundation & Concealer and the Stila Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner.
The liquid lipstick is true to colour and speaking of colour comes in so many different shades. It’s staying power after eating/drinking blows my mind. I never need to retouch my lipstick.
I love how the concealer is on top of the foundation for easy access. Excellent for travelling! The coverage is medium coverage and when I want more coverage I apply a pressed powder on top or in certain areas.
When I wash my face, the only thing left on my face is always my Stila stay all day liquid eye liner. The tip is fine, which is great for the corners of your eyes and perfect for drawing out a cat eye. Just use a waterproof eye make-up remover to get it off.
KIEHLS
It has been a long time since I last used Kiehls products. I was in dire need of a good scrub for the face and I was recommended this micro-dermabrasion one. I’ve used it about 5 times now and it’s so awesome! My skin feels so smooth after. I make sure to use it before going to bed so that I’m not wearing make-up immediately after. It’s not something that is recommended but just my own preference when getting rid of old skin cells, I like to keep my face clean and fresh for good cell rejuvenation process.
ORLY NAILS
I went to a couple of events last month where I had my nails done with Orly nail polish and I loved it! The selection of colours are awesome and the manicure lasted a lot longer than I had expected. Two weeks at one time and a week the second time. I’m guessing there’s a difference due to the busier week I had of house chores and not wearing gloves.
ELIZABETH ARDEN
I did an entire post on a new collection that came out in Arden that I was obsessed with. I highly recommend their lipsticks just for the fact that my lips felt great during the wear and even after.
This is a beautiful scent! I actually collect fragrance. Kept in a cool place, away from the sun to ensure I have them for as long as possible. It’s an odd thing to collect. The obsession began when I started working at Shoppers Drug Mart at 16. So back to the fragrance: the three notes in Gucci Bloom are, Rangoon Creeper, Jasmine Bud and Tuberose.
I had never heard of Rangoon Creeper before so I did a little research. I found that it’s a vine with flowers discovered in south India, and that it changes colour from white to pink, and finally to red when it blooms. That’s just so beautiful to me! So next time you’re at Shoppers Drug Mart, make sure you smell this.

LANCOME MONSIEUR BIG MASCARA
I’m obsessed with this mascara! You’ve probably seen and heard me rave about this mascara enough times on Instagram stories. Its so perfect! It’s great for thickening and lengthening. No clumpy lashes and I swear they look as if I’m wearing falsies.
Halloween movies or shows are a must to watch in the days leading up to October 31st. The best way to set the mood for all the events to come. Halloween parties, going to Haunted Houses and of course trick or treating; to name a few. Last year we took our son trick or treating and the year before that and it was so much fun to see his reaction to different costumes. The first year he wasn’t scared of anything until he saw a woman dressed up as Winnie the Pooh! That was a big surprise. This year my husband and I are so excited to get back into watching Stranger Things. It’s back on Netflix on October 27th. Just in time for Halloween. Which leads me to the big question. Binge watch Stranger Things 2 or take the kids trick or treating?We’re going to do both!

This is my first time purchasing a mattress that was delivered in a box and it was a great experience! Endy is #1 in its market for Canada. So I had high expectations already for this Endy mattress. We moved into our home over a year ago and have been slowly working on each room in the house with furniture and organization. It’s hard to manage having two children under two and being on maternity leave gives us a smaller budget to work with then usual.
ENDY Mattress Review and Unboxing
Speaking of budget, the Endy mattress is super affordable, starting price at $675 CAD. They also offer a 6-month, interest-free financing, to make it easier than ever to afford an Endy. Essentially you just pay it off in 6 equal, monthly installments. The box and the mattress are not heavy at all. I took it from the door to the room and even lifted it a few times for fun! It has 3 layers of foam. The first layer is a gel infused layer that will keep you comfortable through all four Canadian seasons. Who would know this best than a Canadian company! The middle foam is a transition layer that allows for energy to spread out evenly to the mattress. The last foam layer is called the support layer. It supports your body.
So when I did the unboxing I literally did it without looking at any videos or references so I could get a true feel of everything. 100% honest reactions. I actually didn’t read first on the Endy website for easy opening to lay it flat and roll the mattress out. I just did. When I found the cutter I proceeded to using the cutter without really thinking how to use it. Disclaimer: I am terrible at opening packaging.
So I started just cutting through the plastic with no strategy and cut a bit of the mattress! My husband then told me to first press down and then pull up the cutter so its not pulling down and catching on to the mattress. That might be an obvious thing for most but I honestly didn’t think to do that. After I did it his way, it was smooth sailing from there. The mattress then just rolled out on its own. Super easy to unbox.
Final Thoughts..
I love how soft the mattress is and yes there’s a bit of a factory smell but it went away after a few hours. The next day, completely gone. The pillows are not too soft and not too hard. Just right! Starting to feel like I’m Goldilocks haha. The guest room is coming together so stay tuned for more details!

BUT… it’s never too early to start planning where you’re going to shop, what you’ll get and then you won’t have to be stuck the day before finding the lamest gift ever. I was invited to get a preview of what Shoppers Drug Mart will offer this holiday season at a beautifully holiday decorated home and I’m impressed with the line up! STEP 1
Make a list and check it twice. As I walked around the beautiful home at the event I could see that there was something for everyone. You don’t want to forget anyone so make a list and make sure you have everyone covered. The amount of stocking stuffer ideas is just insane! And I mean nice stocking stuffers. No cheese ball ideas. Miniature Benefit Cosmetics in gift sets that you can break up to use as stuffers, chocolates (the gourmet kind) and if you really want to get fancy you can even place them inside Christmas crackers.
STEP 2
Write down their interests. What they like, what they need etc. I find making short notes like that helps a lot to figure out whether they’ll like the gift you’ve picked out for them. Also, you won’t end up getting something they don’t like. Let’s just say it’s a good reminder. I usually use a few words to describe their favourites. So it looks something like this: Jenny – Chocolate and make-up – Shoppers Drug Mart What does the store have to do with being in the list? Brings me to the next step.
STEP 3
In your list, beside each person, put down where you’ll get their gift from. This ensures you get all the gifts you needed while you’re at the store. I always make this mistake when doing mass gift shopping and then I have to go back to the same store twice in one day.

I’m so excited to announce that I’ll be partnering up with Netflix and will be a part of their Stream Team. So you might be wondering what is the Stream Team exactly? It is a group of families who know a thing or two about great entertainment. Every month I’ll be sharing what my family has been watching on Netflix, tips and suggestions. I’m over the moon grateful for this opportunity, especially because it’s a brand I can genuinely relate too. When we first started watching Netflix in our household it was only for Baby D. The kids section has all of his favourite shows and some new ones that he started to love. And now we each have our own faves and movies that we watch as a family.
Nostalgia with Netflix
Story time: Back in elementary school I remember coming home for lunch and watching magic school bus. Or was it after school? It was so long ago I can’t remember, but what I do remember is how much I learnt from that show. It was like going to science class but so much more fun. Episodes where they take field trips into the digestive system, flying into space and so much more.
To this day I remember some of my favourite characters names; Ralphie, Phoebie, Arnold and of course Mrs. Frizzle. When they stopped making new episodes I was so sad. Seriously, I’ll never be too old for cartoons. So when I recently found out that Magic School Bus was coming back today, I was ecstatic! I can’t wait to watch it with baby D. He’s 2 and a half and obsessed with his school bus toy.
If you’ve never watched this show before and you love cartoons, grab some popcorn and get ready for some educational, fun episodes. Who knows, you might learn something you never knew! Velour Lashes is a Toronto based beauty brand that makes (in my opinion) the best luxury faux lashes! I had the pleasure of attending their very first pop up shop at the Eaton Center via Sephora. This pop up’s main goal was to “inspire lash confidence”. It did the trick for me, that’s for sure. A pro at applying falsies on others but terrible at doing my own. Finally a product I’m confident in applying to myself. Naturally I have long eyelashes and with mascara I can get them even longer and thicker. But the look I get with falsies doesn’t compare. You can see the difference in my pictures especially when I go full glam on my eyes.
Velour Lashes REVIEW + Live in Lashes EVENT [BEAUTY]
At the event, we were lucky to watch a make-up demo done by celebrity make-up artist Patrick Ta. He walked us through a live make up tutorial where he explained each step to create the look and the products used. As he did the make up tutorial, he took questions from the audience. Questions like how he likes working with celebrities like Jenner and Khloe Kardashian. As he applied the Velour Lashes to the model, he said:
“I love using these lashes on clients because it adds dimension to the eyes but is comfortable enough for everyday wear.”

To be honest, he’s so absolutely right! Coming from someone who use to wear lashes once or twice a year, I’ve worn my Velour lashes already more than a handful of times, because they’re so easy to put on and feel super comfortable. The strip where you apply the glue is thin and flexible so it adheres to the skin as close as possible which I guess is why it feels so light.
I highly recommend getting the too easy lash applicator tool. I would be lost without it when applying lashes. The angled grip helps to get the lashes on perfectly. It retails for$27.00 CAD. At the lash make over station was where I had the pleasure of getting velour faux lashes put on me by Mable Lee. She is the founder of Velour and she is so awesome! She first tested a few different lashes against my last line to see which one would look best and to see if it needed to be cut and fixed. Not surprised, but the lash fit my eye ball and needed no adjustments. Which is one of the many reasons why I love these lashes.

Toronto had some cold weather a few weeks ago. We were all certain Fall was here. Heck, the leaves had even started changing colour. And now here we are sitting in 20°C+ weather. In the Spring/Summer I loved wearing culottes. I’m not ready to part with them yet, so here’s how I plan to transition into Fall with them.

I wore my culotte pants with a short high neck sweater for a roof top brunch. It was the most perfect pairing for that day. Especially because it was a little chilly.
I’m rocking my suede heels and when it gets colder, putting a blazer or a bomber jacket on top can work as well. I prefer longer blazers to go with these pants and fitted bomber jackets.
I’m obsessed with this Elizabeth Arden Gelato Crush Colour Collection! It’s like a treat without the calories.
The Plush Up Lip Gelato feels incredible on my lips! I’ve recently been wearing a lot of drier and matte formulations that don’t feel so good on the lips, so this was definitely a treat. My lips felt instantly cool and moisturized. The colour is perfect for a more olive skin tone.
The Lip Gelato packaging is also a little different from the traditional lipstick. You push up on the Arden logo for quick access. Easier for us mama’s who only have one hand free at times! Thank you Arden!
